Near Maison de la Bonne Vie are several nice medieval villages and castles that you can visit.

Mur-de-Barrez is a 20 min drive from us. The village is a former fortress of the Count of Carladez and base of the princes of Monaco from 1643 to 1791. Through the port of Monaco you can stroll through the small streets and arrive at the holy Thomas-de-Canterbury church. Here is also a small public garden that is inspired by the Middle Ages with a beautiful view. At the highest point of Mur-de-Barrez is a ruin of a castle here are 2 towers made that give a beautiful 360 degree view of the surroundings.
Château de Valon was built in the 12th century and overlooks the Gorges de Truyère. You can visit the castle and the church and enjoy the small streets and the beautiful view.
Château de Messilhac is a castle from the 12th century. It is in the summer months to visit and is located in the valley of the Goul with a beautiful view of the surroundings.
