Maison de la Bonne Vie during the Corona crisis
First of all, we would like to say that we are doing well at Maison de la Bonne Vie, although we are in a lockdown, but fortunately we can continue with the work and we feel fine.
Our restaurant is closed until the government gives permission to open again, we can rent out rooms, but during the lockdown we do not expect that to be the case.
We are lucky that we live here so nice and beautiful and that the lockdown does not mean that we are locked in just a few square meters. We can go into the garden and enjoy the beautiful weather and the nature that comes to life with these fantastic temperatures. When we go shopping in Mur de Barrez we have to fill in a paper with the purpose of our being outside, but fortunately the supermarket is just full and not yet completely robbed empty. Fortunately, we have a good stock of building materials and we can continue with the renovation in the near future. The small gite is getting more and more beautiful, all walls and ceilings are now equipped with plasterboards. We filled all seams and screw holes 2 times and sanded them flat. The first lighting is installed in the bathroom and when this ceiling is finished we will start with the tiling. Then we can wallpaper the walls of the living room and bedroom, the oak floor can be laid and the kitchen can be placed. Then it is the last things to finish and furnish and then we are finished with the gîte.
Of course, no one knows how long this lockdown situation and everything around it will remain in effect. Hopefully we can open again soon with our restaurant and the chambres d'hôtes and we can welcome everyone again. Until then, we will keep you posted on our activities here and wish everyone good luck, strength and wisdom and stay healthy. Greetings from Derk & Guido.
